EPISODE #102: MENTAL ILLNESS OR SPIRITUAL AWAKENING? COMPARING INDIGENOUS CULTURES TO THE WESTERN WORLD

The modern western world views mental illness as a problem, the person is broken, and often told there are no known cures.  That's not exactly reassuring, is it?

Indigenous cultures view mental disturbances in a completely different way.  They are openings into the mind and doorways to the spiritual realm, not exactly the same approach as today's psychiatric establishment.

Join me today as we compare western and ancient cultures approach to mental illness.  Is it really an illness, or could it be an opportunity for spiritual awakening?

  1. First, let's examine the western approach to mental illness.  How is the afflicted person treated?  What remedies are they presented with?  How is the mental disorder seen?

  2. Next, we'll dive deeper into the indigenous people's perspective on mental instability.  Is it a problem or a possible gift to be discovered?  Is it madness or wisdom?

  3. Lastly, how can the healed healers offer insight, compassion, and assistance to those in the midst of a life transformation?

Don't miss today's episode!

Open your mind to the spiritual side of mental disorders and learn how to shift perspective if you are struggling with your own personal mental health.
